One of my personal favorite places to eat, Uncle Wendell’s, is moving from his Sherman Hill location. He’s heading up Ingersoll, so good news he’s staying close to downtown. Better news–he’s going to be open for lunch and dinner, and have seating!

Every year the July 4 festivities get off with a bang as the Des Moines Symphony puts on “Yankee Doodle Pops” on the Capitol lawn. The event, held each year on July 3, sees tens of thousands of people decend on downtown for a patriotic show, followed by fireworks.
