Announcing New Features To Our Comments
As you’ve been made aware we’ve been hard at work improving our site. Sitting in front of a computer and writing gobbley-gook coding isn’t exactly our idea of fun, but it does make this site a more enjoyable experience for you! So the last couple weeks we’ve been hard at work geekin’ it hardcore to make some great features for you to enjoy.
I want to highlight the changes that have been made to the way you can comment here. It used to be that you could comment, and a few of you would, and that was that.
Not anymore!
Now, you can not only comment on the article, but you can reply to individual comments as well. Now when Paul shows up and blasts this site, Wal-Mart, or bloviates his elitist arrogance you can reply directly to him. Flame wars can now be addressed to the rightful recipient of your flaming……
Or a less sinister feature would be it’s now easier to agree and add your two cents to what others have had to say about what has been written.
This is a great feature that we’re very excited about, and we look forward to enjoying more feedback and creating a little more fun for each of you!
BUT, that’s not all.
Oh no, we’ve added one other feature to our commenting abilities here that will allow the Jr. Higher in all of us to come out. We now have a feature right below our “recent comments” tab in our right sidebar that spells out who’s popular. Right now Josh (your humble host) is winning. It’s our “Most Commentated” sidebar. Post a lot of comments, you win! Don’t post much and you don’t win.
These are just a few of our new features, we’ll be back a little later with a few more things that we’ve done to make Downtown Des Moines Blog an even better resource for you.

By clicking the “reply to this comment” tab to the right of my original comment I can reply to what I said, rather than what the article said.
Much easier to keep track of, and know if someone has commented back to me.
