Are The Iowa Caucuses A Good Thing?

Coming down the home stretch, what do you think, are the caucuses a good thing, or total overkill?

[poll=11]

Are you ready for this to be over, or do you feel like you’re just getting started? Do you wish Iowa was important to everyone else more than once every 4 years? How many residents do we have downtown right now that will disappear on January 4?

I actually GO to the caucus and I have learned a lot about the political process. It is very exciting to have a say in what your party will stand for. Plan to go this year–you will meet your neighbors and peers who believe and vote the way you do.

If I could change one thing about the political process in this state, it would not be the caucus! It would be to make it illegal to advertise a politician or a political statement until 60 or 90 days before the caucus. I am sick to death of listening to the same prattle, day in and day out. It is the SAME EVERY DAY. I have not heard anything fresh yet. I don’t ever choose who I vote for because of TV anyway, so I hate the intrusion.

I like having the extra people in town. If they aren’t impressed with Iowa and our political savvy, they aren’t looking.
