They have quite a large article, with many pictures, featuring someone that lives downtown. They’ll talk about where they live, what they do, what they enjoy and the like.

The Kirkwood

Something I have learned in these past few months, something that I had never noticed in my previous 20+ years here in Des Moines was how much history were in the buildings downtown.  These buildings have been here much longer than I have, and much longer than most of us have been, but I had [...]

Exciting Changes Downtown

The more time I spend researching, experiencing and observing the changes going on downtown I am amazed.  When I graduated from high school in 1998 I thought Des Moines was DOA.
In the last 10 years the changes have been amazing.  There is a huge shift to move entertainment, eating, cultural experience and even living to [...]

KCCI Reports on Living Downtown

Last night, Tuesday Feb. 27 KCCI ran the first part in a special series about living downtown.  I was impressed.
They spoke with three people that have made the move downtown, and let each of them talk about why they did it, and what they love about living downtown.  They even spoke with the man that [...]

The Liberty Building

The Liberty Building, as I am sure you’ve heard has undergone quite a few renovations as of late.  Now you can workout on the main level at GYM/FX, have your office here, or ride the elevator to the top and live at 418 Liberty.

I went through the model units at 418 Liberty on Sunday.  I [...]

Walking Through the East Village

If you haven’t taken time to visit the East Village I highly recommend it.  I see this place as a little eclectic center full of shopping, restaurants and lofts.
What makes the East Village unique is that all the shops are something that you don’t find everywhere else.  I can’t be positive about this, but I [...]

The Brownstones on Grand

I had the opportunity to tour the model unit of the great project The Brownstones on Grand.  What a cool development!

The Brownstones are very unique in that they are designed like the Brownstones out east, much more like a row home or a townhouse than a condo.  This is a very unique project, in that [...]
