Another Dam Idiot caught in Downtown Des Moines

Friday around noon a guy had to be pulled out of the river by city hall. He thought it would be ok to swim over the center street dam as long as he swam fast enough.  Needless to say he had to be rescued  and then he was charged with public intox.

Chinese Restaurant King Ying Low Closes in Downtown Des Moines

After over 100 years in business,  King Ying Low, which is located at 223 4th St in downtown Des Moines, has decided to close the restaurant.
We have not heard of the reason for closing.

KC BBQ closed due to small fire

We tried to eat at KC BBQ on Friday July 18, but when we arrived there was a sign posted on the door that they would be closed until  July 21 due to a small fire.

Does downtown Des Moines need more DAM signs?

Here is a great video about how to improve our dam signs downtown.
I can’t help but wonder, what kind of idiot takes a walmart style blow up raft down the river. The only thing missing in this video is the rafters standing in water waist deep holding an umbrella to give the interview.
