Driving from Downtown Des Moines, we were surprised to see so much smoke. Was MacCrea Park on fire? But as we got closer; we saw there were no fire truck or flashing lights.

There’s a huge fire raging in the Des Moines area, and I’ve got some pics for you.  Since this site is about downtown all these pics are of the great view!

In case you missed it, here are a few pictures from the marathon this weekend.

I received a few pictures in my email today that really show the scope of how many people participated in the big race/walk for the cure this weekend downtown.  I thought I’d share them with you.

I had a comment asking me if I had any pictures of the elephants parading through downtown.  I haven’t received any yet, but I did see that The Des Moines Register has a great 13 pictures series of them.
