The Iowa Energy had their home opener last night over at Wells Fargo Arena. If you’re keeping track, that now gives downtown Des Moines residents pro baseball (I-Cubs), pro basketball (Energy), pro hockey (Stars) and coming soon, Arena Football. All in all it’s quite exciting for downtown Des Moines.

Wow, I hope to see more weekends like this for downtown. Well, more like this on an amounto of things to do scale. I didn’t attend any of these, but there were 10’s of thousands that did.

Downtown from the Wells Fargo Arena today, Roosevelt Girls defeat the same team they whipped last year in the title game, Cedar Rapids Washington, to advance to the title game.
Last year they won 53-28, so at least this year’s game was close……..
