When my wife and I got married 5 and a half years ago we had our reception downtown at The Marriott.  I can’t tell you how much fun we had there, and how great it was to be right in the middle of the city for that day.

We were married in October so my wife had our photographers take us to Gray’s Lake to get some pictures around the lake, and of the fall colors.  Those pictures turned out to be our favorites.  Late afternoon, not long before sunset–they’re awesome.

 

I’d like to introduce you to the founders of The Des Moines Wedding Association.  They have created the best place for couples to research and plan their Des Moines weddings.  They are only about Des Moines, so it’s not a site full of fluff from around the country, or a national site that has little to no information about Des Moines.  Their association is all about Des Moines, and the Des Moines area only.  So if you’re getting married in Maui, they won’t be much help–but if you’re going to get married in the Des Moines area, they are the best resource you’re going to find.
