Do More In Des Moines

Well color me surprised.  The lofty New York Times has taken notice of something outside the political arena taking place in Des Moines.  In fact, they are bragging on the ad campaign to get people to live here with the “absurd” idea that Des Moines would be a good place to live.

This is a good read, if you have a few minutes I recommend you take a look.  You may even notice downtown’s own Ben Washburn making an appearance!

Wasn’t quite sure where to put this, so I thought “Do More In Des Moines” might be appropriate. Hope that works…
Fabulous news!!! Splash is expanding and will be opening a new fresh Oyster and Shellfish Bar/Market December 1st in the location adjacent to their current restaurant Splash Seafood Bar & Grill (currently there is a travel agency there) right on the corner of 3rd and Locust. My understanding is that they’ll be serving their full menu out of there, & in addition will have shellfish, chilled claws & crab legs, fresh seafood, oysters, sandwichs for lunch, etc…. I believe they may be naming it “Splash Oyster Bar & Fresh Seafood Market”, however, not quite sure yet. I absolutely love Splash so I am quite excited about this. Yeah!!! What an extraordinary addition to downtown. I’m so glad I live here!

That is great news! I love Splash too - they have been here since the beginning and stuck it out. I’m so proud of those owners, not compromising and staying put when downtown was not quite as hot as it is now. Thank you for sharing Tina - I can’t wait!
