Hightlights from The Des Moines Register:

Participants may take three downtown tours: West, North and East. Each route describes Des Moines’ architectural history, styles, and elements, as well as intriguing tidbits about the buildings that shape the skyline.

The tours are organized by the Iowa Architectural Foundation and are led by local architects who focus on helping people understand and appreciate Des Moines’ noteworthy architecture.

When: Every other Thursday evening at 5:30 p.m. starting June 14 through September 6.

Where: Meet at Nollen Plaza. No reservations required.

Cost: Suggested donation of $10 for adults, $5 for children.
