Well, Des Moines had a Wine Fest a few weeks ago, (note: this site is run by a guy that doesn’t drink–so I missed this event……)but this week was Beer Fest.

I understand patrons could sample a lot of Iowa brewers products as well as some from smaller private brewers.  El Bait Shop sponsored this event. 

 I walked past the lot and found it to have shoulder to shoulder people.  It was still early and it was quiet–except for the live music.  One could purchase admittance as well as assurance of a designated driver.   (note: or if you moved downtown you wouldn’t have to worry about having someone else help you stumble all the way home…..)

As I walked past I noticed that not only were there several yellow shirted policemen standing waiting, but also at least one cab ready, and waiting. I’m told October will bring an Octoberfest, but this time with German Beers.
