Today was a great day downtown! We walked over to the Farmer’s market to pick up a few things and get a strawberry smoothie…then across the “red bridge” and up to Grand for a walk to the Capitol Complex. But first a stop at the Village Bean for an iced tea–man, it was humid! After cooling off, we walked up the north side of the Capitol, across the west lawn and then to the wellness activities on the south and east sides. Lots of stuff to see and do–and we got lots of freebies, samples and advice.

I got my body mass index checked, but that is for another blog…

After watching the Junior Triathletes for a few hours at the finish line, we hopped a DART shuttle bus and took a ride out to Grays Lake. It was just for a quick look, but there happened to be swimmers in the water as we watched. It was very exciting!

Back on the shuttle to downtown, where we were able to see the athletes on their bikes zipping past.

Mom and I had no trouble getting around, had a very enjoyable time, and then spent some time resting in her apartment in the air conditioning and watching the final races from the window–best seats in the house!

Tomorrow the pros will be here…just a quick ride down the elevator and we will be right on the route…can’t wait.
