Downtown Farmers Market
by Jo Hill

The day finally came, we finally had the first farmer’s market and Court Avenue was packed! Everyone seemed to be having a great time. As we walked around we saw sights of all kinds. There were men, women, kids, babies, dogs, and–oh yes–even a cat!

Farmer’s Market hardly seems like the right name. Yes, there was a lot of fresh produce, but we also saw, clothes, dishes, plants, flowers, jewelry, and baskets. And of, course, prepared food. No one can go to the market and not eat. The longest line seemed to be at the breakfast burrito stand. The line actually turned across the street. By the time we got to the booth with Dutch letters they were sold out as was the pizza bread from the Mast Family. But as we left we found a BBQ stand. Very good.
