Equitable Condos

I got the chance this week to meet with BJ Knapp and see the Equitable Condos.  In a word, wow.

The Equitable Building is a really great building from a visual standpoint.  It’s right in the middle of the downtown skyline, so the views from the building are quite unique.

The top several floors have been redone and turned into Des Moines’ most luxurious address.  Everything about these condos is luxurious, that’s easy to see in the condo, and in the price.

If you haven’t yet seen the Equitable Condos, I highly recommend you take a look.  You can visit their website, www.equitablecondos.com as I don’t think they have open houses very often.

PROS:

This property screams luxury.  From the size, finish, and materials to the little things like the propane line out to the deck for your grill.  (no need to mess with tanks here)

You can have your home, gym, bank, office, and other services all in the same building.

Equitable is right on the skywalks.

CONS:

The cheapest unit in the building is nearly $500,000.

Parking is across the street from 418 Liberty, so it’s several blocks away from Equitable.  (This won’t be a problem when the valet parking service is begun)

Overall I would have to say The Equitable Condos are exactly what they set out to be.  The most luxurious living downtown Des Moines has to offer.

They sound quite nice. How was privacy in that building? Can surrounding buildings see right in your unit?

I’m sure there are a few units that people could see in, but if you put up curtains you’ll be great!
