I’ve had several people ask me how my traffic here has been going, so I’m going to make this public knowledge.  I’m pretty impressed, especially when you consider that every single person that visits this web site has one reason to read–downtown Des Moines.

In April I’m on pace to be near 10,000 page views!!  That would double March’s total of 5,100.  That’s a lot of people wanting to know more about downtown Des Moines!

I also spent some time today looking around on google for how people are finding me.  Nearly 50% of my traffic comes from google, which means I’ve got to have some pretty high rankings….

When searching the following terms, here’s where I was ranked, which of course can change at any time.  These results were for my search that was done this afternoon:

#1 and #2 of 498,000 web pages

live downtown des moines

#1 and #2 of 1,430,000 web pages!!!

downtown des moines lifestyle

#1 and #2 of 223,000 web pages

eat downtown des moines

#1-2 of 237,000 web pages

downtown des moines living

#7 of 1,050,000

downtown des moines 

#34 of 2,860,000 web pages

 

That last one, a ranking of #34 is a real bummer–but out of almost 3,000,000 I guess it’s not so bad!
