I Love The Downtown Library

There are many new improvements that have been made downtown.  One of the best is the new central library.  I don’t care that it’s not brand new, it’s “newer,” and it’s one thing that has really improved downtown.

What I’m going to tell you now will suprise you, but many people that use the library don’t read books.  You can stop by Starbucks next door, or enjoy the little cafe that the library has inside and read magazines, books, or do research.

The one activity that I’ve noticed seems to get the most attention at the library is Myspace.  When you sit down to access the internet (if you can get a seat!) you’ll see that nobody is actually working.  It’s pretty funny to me.  Why waste your time learning something while you’re at the library–put those headphones on and check out Myspace!

I must admit that my favorite feature the library now offers is online.  When I want a book I go reserve it online, the library will find the book for me–even deliver it downtown if it’s at another library, and put it on hold for me.  Then they email me and tell me where to pick it up!  It’s great, if they’d just include a massage……………

What do you think about the central library?  What improvements can they make, and what are they doing great?  Sound off!
