Moving to Downtown Des Moines

I’ve kept track of my traffic pretty well here and there has been one thing that has really amazed me.  Over 1/2 of the hits that I get come from outside the Des Moines area.  If you’ve spent any time reading this site you know that it’s entirely about downtown Des Moines–so that has to be why people from outside Des Moines are finding me.  They want information about downtown Des Moines, or more specifically, they are moving to Des Moines and want to live downtown.

Just this weekend I was contacted by people from Chicago, Florida, Pittsburgh, California and a few folks in Iowa, asking me advice on where they should live.  I’m thrilled to help, and glad that I have created a place where people can actually find information about living downtown.  That was the whole reason this site was created, because there was no information to be found!

If you’re reading this and want to know of a great place to live feel free to email me:

Or you can scroll through the site and read a few reviews–and best yet, we’ll be featuring open houses shortly, so you can really see what downtown living spaces are really like!

OK, OK…I am using my “movie star name” (my middle name and the street I grew up on) so that my name is not recognized. The reason I am doing this is that I have a concern. I am planning to move to the downtown area in November. I have called the Vine Street Lofts, the MarketPlace Lofts, Hubbell Tower, and the Court Avenue Lofts to ask about housing for myself. After several calls, I have yet to hear back from any of them! Are they all doing so well that they don’t need or want another resident? I am wondering what would help them get in touch with people that are really planning to move downtown?
    Any thoughts on this?
