New At The Downtown Des Moines Farmers Market
by Jo Hill

We go to the farmer’s market most every Saturday, and we always get popcorn for Tammy. Always. This Saturday we did buy Peaches and Cream Sweet Corn, and a loaf
of garlic cheddar bread.
We laughed about taking pictures every Saturday, and someone said–It is OK to take
picture of anything new. And this is what we found new. Maybe we missed them before but a first for us was a balloon artist, and insect eating plants. We see so many dogs, but I looked beside me, and saw this white ferret with his mouth open and showing us all these sharp little teeth. We were assured he was very hot, but friendly. Cute enough to pet, but his owner was welcome to him.

We did not stop and try it, but one booth had two big motorized Ice Cream Freezers.
They looked much like the old freezer we used years ago, but of course–much larger.
May try it next time. Home made Ice Cream was always great fun when I was younger,
and we all agreed at that time–half the fun was cranking the freezer, especially if you have a lot of kids with you.

Guess, I’ll have to check closer for new things next week.
