River Bend Trading Company Opens
The River Bend Trading Company is finally opening on Thursday, from 10AM to 9PM. This is the long awaited Court Avenue grocery store.
This opening brings the downtown grocery store total to 3, which is a huge improvement from the beginning of the year. One of the huge complaints downtown residents have had was the lack of a grocery store downtown–now there’s 3!
Of course, there’s still not a “full service” type of store, like Hy-Vee, Dahl’s, Target, or Paul’s favorite place, Wal-Mart. But not many people will say that these 3 offerings downtown don’t blow away the options above. I have yet to talk to anyone not very, very excited about each of these new grocery options downtown.

The Riverbend is actually an amazing little store. Sure, it doesn’t have the full features of Wallmart, but then again, it probably is not guilty of unethical labor practices or ruining local markets. it has a lot more than you would think, and its cute inside. Plus, the community atmosphere is just delightful.
