Vote No On Project Destiny
Up to this point I’ve been very fair when talking about Project Destiny. I was still doing my research, and wanted to make an informed vote on the issue.
In my research I have found that Project Destiny is modeled after something that was done in Pittsburgh, PA. If you end it there it sounds nice. What needs to be added is that what Pittsburgh did bankrupted the city, and the mayor left office with an 84% disapproval rating. (which is almost as bad as the US Congress these days!)
How city leaders can come to the conclusion that using an idea that bankrupted a city is a good idea……?
The shady sales techniques, the hemming and hawing about what’s really going to happen, and the basic way that they’ve hidden what this proposal is for leaves me no choice by to vote against it. Of course, I’m not alone, as KCCI said the approval rating on this sucker was <10%.
The people of central Iowa are not idiots, and know when they’re being swindled. If the government needs more money, how bout doing things the old fashioned way and cutting other expenses?
Vote ‘NO’ on Project Destiny July 10.
